Career Progression, Social Passion, Community Service
Zafar Abbas completed his graduation from the University of Karachi and began his professional
career in Sales and Marketing. He worked as a Sales representative in dominant companies of
Pakistan, such as Medicam Pvt. Ltd and Pakistan Agro Chemical. He then progressed to executive posts in Maaza Pakistan and Royal Crown Cola U.S.A. Despite his professional success,
he never lost sight of his passion for social work and community service. He worked with his friends and
companions to support those in need during times of crisis, whether it was responding to a bomb blast
or earthquake.
Year 2010
The year 2010 marked a turning point in his life. Amidst the chaos of the catastrophic flood, he emerged
as a beacon of hope for the devastated victims, embodying the essence of altruism and empathy. In
those challenging times, he sowed the seeds of JDC, an organization that has since transformed
countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on society.
Abbas Town Blast
From the heart-wrenching scenes of the Abbas Town Blast to the harrowing Badami Bagh Incident, Zafar
Abbas and his team were the first to arrive at the scene of devastation. They have also braved the
elements, whether it be a plane crash or a flood disaster. Their unwavering commitment to helping
those in need has made them a symbol of hope in times of crisis.
Currently, he is involved in 89 welfare projects, encompassing a wide range of areas including
rescue, health, education, and welfare.
Free Dialysis Facilities
Zafar Abbas has been a true hero for kidney patients, providing free dialysis facilities to over 57,000 patients annually. He has also been working towards providing free diagnostic lab facilities to people, helping them with their medical expenses
Free IT Center
As a champion of youth empowerment, Zafar Abbas has established a Free IT Center that has enabled more than 63,000 students to learn e-commerce and start their own businesses.
COVID-19
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Zafar Abbas was at the forefront of providing aid to those in need. He distributed thousands of free ration bags to needy families daily for almost a year, while his COVID-free hospital facilitated hundreds of patients. He also supplied free oxygen and
medical equipment in large quantities to those in need.
Floods Hit Pakistan
When the recent floods hit Pakistan, he raised his voice for the affected, rescuing thousands of people and providing them with food, shelter, and cash to rebuild their lives. He sent hundreds
of trucks to the affected areas daily, bringing relief to those who were devastated by the floods.
He has also been fighting hunger by feeding over 100,000 people for free through his Dastarkhuwan and free mobile restaurant project
Zafar Abbas’ efforts have earned him numerous awards, but he cherishes the kind words of Abdul Sattar Edhi the most. Edhi’s praise was a validation of his dedication and a testament to his passion for serving humanity. Zafar continues to carry on Edhi’s legacy, inspired by his words
of appreciation.
